Oh god, let's see how this guy, who wasn't involved with the books, screws up the lore and timeline.
How I explained Bhaalspawn to my friend who has never played d&d. Mortal Highlanders.
Thank you
Nice that they aren't pushing for wheelchairs in fantasy worlds.
Where is one of the original wizards 3 , Elminster!?
Dude, i'm making my own tabletop stuff with Calico Critters and Li'l Woodzeez. This is great! XD
I can't wait to get this set and make the Harry Potter/Sonic crossover I always wanted to see
VELSHAROON SHUT UUUUP. Interloper god, lazy character.
Please called “Advanced D&D” or else but “Revised Player handbook” or 2024 PHB does sound nice
So... is this new version officially called Revised 5e D&D now???
It's a pity that Dungeons and dragons isn't made for everyone.
Many aren’t happy with clerics and sorcerers having subclasses at level 3. I should be able to heal and support my allies as a divine soul sorcerer at level 1, ans I should be able to do trickster things as a trickery cleric by casting disguise self at level 1
What a dangerous thing...😂
I'm still not interested. If you wanted to print a new edition, print a new edition.
Now when are they becoming playable
Counterspell is not my job.
How is it that a writer does not know the correct colloquialism? It is “smell the roses” not “smell the flowers”.
I've grown to love these three guys. Thanks for all your enduring work for the community of D&D!
Shame that Soth's helmet is now different from its original design/shape
Does it mean Swashbuckler isn't making it in? There were four subclasses for each class, right?
I sure hope Swashbuckler made it in.
Could be they are making thief features base rogue features
@@samuelkalkman9388 I hope so, but they've given no indication that may be happening. I do think that the Thief's ability to use any magic items should be a base class feature for the Rogue though.
@@teknogothyk ya I'm just kinda coping
@@samuelkalkman9388 A lot of us are, I think.
Xd
Secrets and lies are fleeting. Hence the need to always horde new secrets. Truth finds a way.
Do I hear GUNSLINGER!
This video should be stickied in every DM/GM resource area.
Honestly I feel like this new PHB is gonna just be more confusing than anything, like, you're pulling things from a bunch of existing books as well as doing some new stuff, and some of the existing stuff is probably reworked from its original release, so I feel like it's just gonna be confusing unless everyone is on the new book. Say I'm a DM and I have Tasha's, and a player in my game has the new PHB but I don't, and they're using something from the new book that has been reworked since its original release, won't that confuse everyone and cause possible rules contention?
When I began playing D&D, I'd use material from various editions (basic, 1e, and 2e) interchangeably, thinking of editions as merely minor updates, and it worked fine. 3e changed saves and AC, so at that point it required I actually convert something, but initially I'd DM 1e monsters for 3e characters, too! If this is anything to go by, I suspect that you'll be able to mix new and old 5e material together with no great consternation.
As soon as you said "I'm the DM...", it's your campaign/world/setting/adventure so your rules my friend.
Any chance we'll see a Psyonics Handbook in the next couple of years?
lol, probably not. They don't want to bother putting work into an actual psionics system for 5E. That's why they did a whopping 1 UA for Mystic, which would have been 5E's Psionicist.
I love the dynamic of these 3 dudes. Always a delight to watch. Thank you!
I was really hoping for a psionic base class. But at least we get 4 psionic subclasses, so that’s a win! 😃👍🏻
What's the third one?
@@mslabo102s2 Psionic sorcerer & great old one warlock.
Well the psionic subclasses are taken from their most recent attempt at a psionic base class. Soul knife was originally a subclass from the mystic class that they had as UA a few years back.
Dude, the only fighter subclass that I think deserved more than Psi Warrior [as a subclass with actual diminished potential and that could use a update] is the the Arcane Archer. So, that's a win
Arcane archers are sweet but I think they left it out because it only really works for archers. the other 3 subclasses in the PHB work with any weapon
What a surprise. Psionics truly as core...
"Psionics"
Wait, so we actually play an accurate Githzerai.
I have an idea of a feature that i think can be implemented in the new edition of dnd for the paladin: First of all the divine smite return a paladin's feature and not a spell. Than i have an idea for a new feature: Greater Divine Smite: At level 17 the paladin once per long rest or using a channel divinity charge when using Divine Smite can use "Greater Divine Smite" dealing the paladin's level+charisma modifier extra radiant damage and unleashing an effect based on the sacred oath, if the attack misses he can decide to try again with the second attack, if by the end of the turn he has not managed to hit the enemy he can decide to maintain concentration by conserving the Greater Divine smite until one of his attacks hit, while maintaining concentration the paladin is affected by the holy fire effect ( he suffers 1d4 radiant damage each turn) and when he attacks he must use divine smite. Pls if you like this feature share it with other dnd videos in this way maybe it will reach wizard, thanks😊
Have you been commenting this all over the place? This is the second time I’ve seen this recently
Can you add the Alchemist Preservasionist from Pathfinder to DnD. Its a very fun subclass, Basically a pokemon trainer. Throw monsters in bottles at your enemies!
...You know WotC didn't make Pathfinder and has nothing to do with it?
@@teknogothyk I know.
@@drewmalesky9869 Why ask about a class from another system then?
So what rogue subclass got cut. Was it the assassin or swashbuckler?
Certainly the Swashbuckler. Except for Clerics and Wizards, all classes are retaining their 2014 PHB subclasses.
@matthewdavis9966 you never know. The UA swashbuckler was better than the UA assassin. The soul knife and the assassin Also fill the same role. Which the soul knife pulls off better. I wouldn't be shocked if one or two original PHB subclasses didn't make the cut. Like moon druid for sherpard druid.
They could easily add thieves and assassins into a single subclass.
@@adamg0013It has to be Swashbuckler getting cut honestly. Not only was Assassin in the PHB, Swashbuckler was actually even the Xanathar's Subclass that needed updating the least, with Assassin being among the top 3 that need updating the most alongside Mastermind and Inquisitive. Plus, Swashbuckler may have been good in the Playtest, but I actually found that 2 of its Abilities (Awe and Invigorate) are actually more fitting for a Mastermind update over Swashbuckler to me.
@halozoo2436 does it, though? This is a new book. They aren't locked by the 2014 subclasses. The game has evolved since then. Now you're probably right it is the swashbuckler because you can still play the 2017 on the 2024 rogue, but the soul knife and the assassin actually fit the same archetype. All about getting the jump on someone but soul knife does it better with blades that don't leave a mark teleportation and invisibility. and why couldn't the assassin be repurposed for the dmg as an "evil" subclass, and all classes get one, not just cleric and paladin.
Pulling the brawler instead of fixing it is going to disappoint so many people.
One way or another, there will be let downs. Brawler is a good ideia that can easily come back in future books. Psi Warrior (and other alike) rarely can get their revival.
Think it just came down to time crunch, brawler probably needed a bit more work and the book needed to go to print...
Yeah. It will be disappointing. ...grabs Tavern Brawler.
To be fair though, Brawler wasn't in the best place due to the weirdness of Unarmed Attacks and not getting Weapon Mastery with them, the same issue Monk faced in their first Playtest iteration, so it definitely ended up in a weird place with how it was designed, and it had a similar issue to the College of Dance Bard with being similar to Monk but not a Monk. I suspect that if we see it again, it'll probably focus more on the Improvised Weapon side and make that the focus rather than try to make them good at punching too, though the Grappling stuff might stay as well. I also wouldn't be surprised if it was also delayed in favor of the Psi Warrior as it was decided they wanted to have more Psionic themed Subclasses so Brawler was shelved for later alongside Swashbuckler.
BG3 really made me more interested in Psychic abilities.
just goin through my old videos, damn I really miss DCA...
Can we stop calling it “the multiverse” because that is a buzz word post MCU? In D&D it is “the planes.”
The planes implies that it's only just that universes planes of existence at stake. Which is not the case, hence, multiverse or all versions of all the planes that exist
Lesss gooo
Hoping the "couple new species" are deep gnomes, duergar, goliaths, and aasimar. It just seems wrong to not exclude the other two Underdark races when you have Drow.
And removing Subclass from the book, or stealing and reprinting them from other book Is "adding"?
Damn. I just joined and was hooked. I was hoping to watch the entirety of Lost Mine of Phandelver. Does anyone know if they finished it?
Instead of making multiclassing a thing, make Feats more prominent and useful! Multiclassing is wasted when majority don't get any benefits from being two classes until REALLY high level which is busted for many parties anyway. The more you guys cater to power creep and power gamers you loose alot of us who just play for fun. If we aren't able to create that fun concept from the start then it's going to be terrible for majority of your player base. I also think anything that handwaves spell components ect need to be either removed or just outright don't have spells that require them because so many don't use them and it's how the balance of spell casters has been thriwn out the window leaving the more physical attacking classes behind. Already been unhappy with the play test stuff because there's a pretty obvious disparity between them that's going to be compounded with this
Time will tell.
👌
I wonder how one would do an Isekai background or a planeswalker one. ;p
Is this really opening the door to new concepts if you literally CAN’T PURCHASE INDIVIDUAL SUBCLASSES ON DNDBEYOND ANYMORE? That’s right everybody. They quietly decided to FORCE EVERYONE TO BUY THE ENTIRE BOOK

Just a shame that Dnd beyond has stopped us cherry picking the bits we want/need. Now you either have to buy the books digitally or both digitally and physically.
Yeah no surprise they’re posting shorts to probably distract from that
